OAKMAN

OAKMAN c’est Marine (chant/guitare) et les frères Gérémia (basse) et Jesse (batterie). Ils viennent de Lyon et font un rock romantique, nerveux et mélodique.
Ils furent baignés dans le renouveau rock américain des années 90 (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Basement, Citizen, Manchester Orchestra). Leurs chansons parlent des relations humaines surtout, des non-dits, des histoires d’amour, de la nature aussi, de la solitude mais toujours de l’espoir parce qu’il n’est pas question de se laisser aller. L’émotion nait de la puissance sonore. De la voix de Marine aussi, rageuse mais délicate, de ce contraste entre l’agressivité du jeu et l’harmonie qui s’en dégage.

Le groupe est apparu sur la scène lyonnaise en 2016. Un premier EP 4 titres 'Waterscape' est sorti en octobre en autoproduction. Les concerts se sont enchainés depuis, en France mais aussi en Angleterre, en Italie et au Japon.
Un second EP 5 titres "Plastic World" est sorti fin 2017, mixé par Sam Pura (State Champs, Story So Far) à Fremont en Californie. De nouveaux titres sont enregistrés en 2018 et 19 tandis que le groupe enchaine les concerts en Angleterre, Japon, France, et aux US en 2019. Un nouveau single "OUTER SPACE" sort en octobre 2019, puissant et moderne, il a encore décuplé l'audience du groupe. Un autre single devrait paraitre au printemps 2020, ainsi qu'une nouvelle tournée France/Angleterre.

Tout en nuance par cette façon récurrente de composer des morceaux à tiroirs, de passer de la rage à l'espoir, de la patience à l'explosion, OAKMAN a tout pour séduire : habile, romantique, puissant, jeune, fougueux, éblouissant.

OAKMAN is Marine (lead voc/guitar) and the brothers Gérémia (bass) and Jesse (drums). They come from Lyon, east of France and play an emotional kind of rock, nervous and melodic.
Now in their twenties, they bathed in the 90's US rock revival led by Nirvana, Soundgarden or Pearl Jam. Marine writes in English, naturally. Her songs are about human relationships, things unsaid, love stories, but also nature and hope. Part of the emotion comes from the strength and power of the sound, but from Marine's voice too, sometimes raging, sometimes delicate, building up a contrast between aggression and solace.

The band popped up on the Lyon rock scene in 2016. A 4-track-self-produced debut EP "Waterscape" was released in October. Then they started touring and seem to never stop ! In France but also in England, Italy and Japan. Through social networks, long-distance collaborations, regular touring, their wish to play abroad, and the success they meet each time, keep getting stronger each year. A Second EP "Plastic World" was released in October 2018, mixed by Sam Pura (State Champs, Story So Far) in Fremont, CA, USA. The band continued touring in 2019 with amazing highlights at Paris' Bataclan, fronting for Enter Shikari, but also realizing a dream : going to the US to record a few tracks and play. A new single was released ion october 2019, from the US sessions. Another single will be out for spring 2020, with a France/ENgland tour.
